These live immersions provide space for writers, artists, thinkers, and creators to dive deeply into their lived experiences — both physical and subtle.

Writing + Creative Embodiment Immersions

Here, you will find our online Writing + Creative Embodiment immersion series. These gatherings are designed to hold space for your compassionate and curious inner discovery leading to your authentic outward expression, and ultimate creative embodiment. These immersions provide space for writers, artists, thinkers, and creators, like you, to dive deeply into your lived experiences to explore, experiment, and allow truth to manifest.

As the Wellspringwords® platform is a trauma-informed space, we hope you feel safe to feel, embody, and express as you reside here.

Our teaching and learning philosophy is Intuitive Education™ wherein we set intentional structures for learning so authentic creative energy can flow with direction but without interference. Through this approach, we aim to restore the deep value of intuition in our creative processes, our writing journeys, and our holistic wellbeing.

During this workshop, we will dive into poetic language and how it can be used to build worlds and add dimension and color to our written narratives.

Through meditative inquiry, writing prompts, poetic guidance, and collaborative exercises, we will draw upon our own senses of perception to pull magic, whimsy, and vitality from our lived experiences and imaginations and into our writing.

Encouragement from our community

Naya

“I attended Liberating the Heart: Alchemizing Pain Into Poetry and it was an incredibly beautiful and deeply powerful experience! In full transparency, I had been trying to get back into writing poetry "in preparation" for this workshop in the week leading up to it and found myself stumped and stumbling. So you can imagine my pleasant surprise at the way Nkem's facilitation and careful curation of the virtual space massaged my mind, opened my heart, and nourished my soul to bring forth creativity that I worried was long gone! Moreover, to be in communion with other womxn of color who were just as enthusiastically vulnerable and affirming, helped to empower and encourage me in my own writing and sharing throughout the immersion. What a gift to share space and time with these womxn and what a gift to be guided in returning home to myself in order to birth such creative splendor!”

Nnenna

“The session was relaxing, welcomed my body to great understanding.”

Jazz

“This workshop came into my life at the perfect time. I'm currently going through something and desperately needed guidance. To my surprise, the questions and poems are exactly what I needed to express what I needed to. I also had no idea I could enjoy free writing this much.”

Courtney

“This workshop created an inspiring and fulfilling space for me to express myself. I loved how the workshop began with intention setting and breathwork practices to help us stay centered in our purpose. I also loved the mixture of different styles we were introduced to and the way vulnerability was encouraged and valued. This is a safe space, especially as a woman of color, to be brave and take risks with your writing!”

Janine

“I found the session to be about connecting to self and honestly thought the prompts were meant for me. They were super helpful.”

Shayna

“I really enjoyed the workshop, especially the prompts that were provided and how relevant and unique they were. There were so many exercises where everyone was given a chance to share their writing and thoughts safely and in an engaging manner. The workshop was also very open to all levels of writing and provided the right tools for everyone to learn from one another and dive into experimenting creatively with their words, which was really helpful and fun.”

Lindsay

“I signed up for this class from an ad, but I was pleasantly surprised at how it was run and the content was both engaging for me creatively and spiritually.”

Danielle

“I met Nkem through a Facebook bloggers group, and she has been a huge inspiration and motivator for my writing journey. Her workshops dig deep into not only me as a writer, but also as a person. I feel refreshed after every workshop I do with her.”

Courtney

“Attending Wellspringwords workshops energizes my spirit. It's so nice to be in community with people who understand the unique experiences of being a woman of color and trying to be creative and give space to your passions when you receive so many messages about being "productive" by society. It feels luxurious to be in these workshops, even though I know it should just be something all womxn of color have access to - letting their art be a source of internal strength and expression.”

Jenn

"This was my first experience with Qigong and it was powerful. The level of peace and groundedness I was able to achieve shocked me. I literally felt like my feet were on fire in the first round, in the second round it was my hands. I've often resisted standing meditations but now I'm excited to integrate this style more into my life."
