Awallopenedup

Awallopenedup, Acrylic on Canvas, 24" x 36", 2025

“I didn't want anyone to see themselves too explicitly within this piece.

There's a bit of distortion with the faces and features for this reason. To me this painting about about a one-sided connection, unknown to the first party. There is safety between these two, but it's more about the ways an individual’s own struggles can create distance within a relationship between two people.”

Daneille Moss

Daneille (da-neale) Moss is a visual artist born in Jamaica, raised in South Florida, and currently resides in Texas. She pulls inspiration from emotional experiences surrounding human connection at every level - friendships, romantic relationships, parental relationships. For many years, her artwork lived on small labels for her candle brand, but she has returned to creating artwork on a larger scale. The emotions she chooses to represent in her art can be heavy or even lonely at times, but her style is more playful. Expressive with color and embracing a slight distortion of the human form.
