The practice of seated, silent meditation has many benefits, including:
creating an honest relationship with the body, mind, and emotions,
developing a sacred inner connection with Self, and
attuning to our subtle awareness.
While it takes dedication and intention to develop an effective meditation practice, the challenges along the journey only enhance the effectiveness of the practice. Each one of us is uniquely situated in our bodies, our minds, and our hearts. Meditation helps us to more deeply understand the stories within that are as alive as our physical vessels themselves.
And what we practice in meditation holds value outside of the seated practice. Cultivating a meditative state allows us to be aware of when else we are “in meditation”, be it writing, dancing, singing, cleaning, love making, painting, talking, walking…
In this 90-minute creative embodiment immersion, we will attune to our personal body-mind-spirit state of meditation by:
Preparing the body to meditate
Practicing seated meditation
Reflecting on the experience
This practice will support us in accessing a meditative state in our writing and creative processes, and throughout our lives.
